It was the debut of Jin my main character and I remember how everyone was speculating it was young Kazuya at launch. My favourite in the series is Tekken 3 because it was the one I played the most and still play to this day aside Tekken 7. The Tekken games have an amazing cast of characters despite having a zoo full of animals in it's roster such as Gon, Kuma, King, Roger Jr and Panda :P The absolute beast of 3D fighting in my opinion The King of Iron Fist Tournament a.k.a Tekken is the best selling franchise of the fighting genre made by the "guy who just doesn't give a shit" Katsuhiro Harada. To this day it still plays great and is the foundation for the series since. The gameplay changes were awesome though. Tekken 3 was the Episode 8 of the series, tonally. I really strongly dislike when Japanese developers go down that road. It feels like they were trying really hard to attract the western market. Just take one look at Yoshimitsu's design in 1 and 2 and compare it to what we got in 3. Never during my time with 1 and 2 did I think "you know what would be BAD ASS? HEIHACHI SHOULD BE IN CHARGE OF A FUCKING ARMY!!" How did we go from something that felt truly Japanese to something out of an American GI Joe movie or something? I always found that super off putting. I really resent how loud the series became. I could play pretty well in Tag 2 with most characters but in 7 I was getting my ass handed to me by the second character and couldn't seem to pull off any moves or what the game was instructing me to do. I played some of the story mode or whatever that is in Tekken 7 and honestly found it unplayable, and I don't mean from a quality perspective but a difficulty/controls one. Tekken 2 easily had the best music in the series but from a gameplay perspective my favorites are Tekken 3, Tag, and Tag 2.
